HEI +12V Power (Ignition) connector and Terminal

Part# HEI-1 (GM Part #08917644)

This connector allows you to easily connect your new replacement D.U.I HEI distributor to your FJ40/60 Land Cruisers wiring harness for key switched +12V power. Includes one terminal. This connector plugs into the BAT connector on the distributor.

Note: If you are replacing your 5/1978 to 7/1980 OEM distributor with a D.U.I. distributor, you should not use the LARGE 10ga OEM Black/Yellow ignition wire to power the D.U.I! This wire is actually spliced to a 1.2 Ohm pink Yazaki RESISTOR wire inside the harness and was used in place of a ballast resistor. Using this wire to power the D.U.I. will result in the voltage at the D.U.I being about 10 volts not the full 12 volts needed.

Though some claim this will work, I cannot verify it.

You have two choices: open the harness, remove the resistor wire and replace it with 10ga Black/Yellow wire, or use the SMALL Black/Yellow wire that originally powered the ignitor to turn on one of my DUI Relay Kits which uses a waterproof 40 Amp relay to switch power straight from the battery to the D.U.I.

This connector allows you to easily connect your new Tach to your D.U.I HEI distributor! Includes one terminal. This connector plugs into the TACH connector on the D.U.I HEI distributor.

Starter Stud Boot Cover

Part# SS1810 This red boot slips over the + battery cable where it attaches to the starter and covers the retaining nut on the starter stud. Helps prevent that shower of sparks we have all experienced and dresses up that drab area in your engine bay. :-) Fits ALL starters.

Alternator B+ Stud Boot Cover

Part# AS1810 This black boot fits all alternators and slips over the B+ Alternator charge wire where it attaches to the alternator. This boot completely covers the retaining nut and stud. (Note: To install this you will have to cut off the B+ ring terminal, slide the boot on, [ it is a nice TIGHT fit on the large wire], then install a new ring terminal. Part #RT2 is the ring terminal you will need.)

Ignition Coil Stud Boot Covers

Part # CS11810

This PAIR of black boot fits over the existing OEM igtion coil ring terminals offering short protection and splash protection. A bit of dielectric grease can make this almost water proof. Can also be used on any other stud such as the stud style water temp sensor.

Reverse Switch Boot Cover

Part# RS1810 This red boot slips over the Reverse Switch body and protects the wires from mud and crud. It completely covers the back of the switch. Fits all LARGE BODY (ie EARLY) OEM Toyota reverse switches.

Fuse Holder: For Early Hazard Switch Or Later Cooling Fan Timer Module

Part# FH1 This fuse holder kit allows you to replace the broken Hazard Switch fuse holder on your early FJ40, or the Cooling Fan Timer Module fuse holder on 9/77 and later FJ40's. The kit includes the two plastic end pieces, two wire rivets that are soldered onto the existing harness wires, and one holder spring which can be cut to the length of the fuse you use. Installation Instructions. Can also be used as a general purpose fuse holder.

Dual Fuse Holders: For 1979 and later FJ40/45 w/50A Amp Meter

Part# FH2 If you have a 1979 or later FJ40/45 with the 50A Amp Meter and the small fuse block under the hood on the passenger side with two 5 AMP fuses, you can use TWO of these holders to replace that OEM fuse box.The kit includes the two plastic housings, four crimp on fuse holder end pieces and two 5 amp fuses. Note: This fuse holder uses the LONG style 5 Amp fuse.

3 Pin Rubber Headlight Harness Connector Kit: Early to 9/71

Finally found a source for these weird connectors!

Part#HL3 This connector is for the headlights on early to 9/71 FJ40's and 45's. The kit includes two body pieces, male and female, and male and female brass termianls enough to do ONE headlight. Order TWO for both headlights! One connnects to the head light harness and one to the vehicle harness just like OEM. This allows you to make you own OEM looking connection to new style replacement head lights (like Round Eyes) or to simply replace your OEM connections.

3 Pin Headlight Socket Kit: Early 69 to 84

Part# 3PHLS This connector kit is for the early sealed beam headlights (or any H4 type head light). Do NOT order these for high power headlights above 55 watts!!! High power lights above 55 Watts need ceramic sockets to prevent melting the light socket. Order Part # 3PHLCER for ceramic sockets. The kit includes two sockets and 6 brass female terminals. Use with Part#HL3 to re-create the early headlight harnesses as seen in the pic of the harness sub-assembly below.

Ceramic 3 Pin Headlight Socket Kit Version #1: Early 69 to 84

Part# 3PHLCER This connection kit is for the early style sealed beam type connector headlights, but these are CERAMIC sockets so can handle higher wattage lights. (OEM lights were 55 watts. Though these can handle more than that, remember anything higher than 55 watts is for Off-Road use only!) You may need upgraded wiring to take full advantage of higher power lights.

Includes 3 or 6 brass terminals. Put your wires through the back cover, crimp on the included terminals, insert the terminals into the housing, then push the cover over the ceramic core.

Note: Socket Cover colors may be Orange, Blue, Yellow, or Black. I never know which I will recieve when I order some in, so ask me what color I currently have in stock if it matters to you!

Headlight Switch LED Bulb

Part# HLSW-LEDG This BA7 bas LED replacement bulb is ONLY for the Headlight Switch from 9/73 to 9/77.

The LED is GREEN to match the color of the filter in the switch knob for maxium light transfer.

Harness Tape

Part# HT100 3/4" wide roll of Harness Tape. This tape has NO ADHESIVE! It is specifically designed to wrap harnesses. The tape will stick to itself in a limited fashion when stretched tight while wrapping. The ends will need to be secured with normal tape or one can use an "underwrap" to secure it. Three rolls will do a full harness up to 1971. Four are required for later harnesses. A full harness is the main body harness and the rear chassis harness. I use a 50% overlap wrap when wrapping a harnesses. You can do less than a 50% overlap to save tape and have a more flexible harness, or do more than a 50% overlap for more protection, but you will have a stiffer harness.
