The wire for sale here is GXL type cross-linked wire rated for 257 degrees F (125C). It has better temperature tolerance, better abrasion resistance, better oil/gas resistance and is more flexible than OEM spec GPT plastic wire. It will allow your wiring to be repaired, or added to, and still match your OEM schematic! If you have a later model truck and need a wire color not listed, email me. I may have it already or I can get it. I'll need to know the gauge and base color/stripe.

Note: The wire color shades are not an exact OEM match of course, and the stripe is spiral not straight down the wire making it easier to see.

BJ40/FJ40/45 Wire Colors

There are six primary colors used: Black,Green,Blue,Red,Yellow and White and seven stripe colors Black, Green, Blue, Red, Yellow, White, and Orange. This gives a total of 31 combinations!

As a general guide Toyota colors are grouped according to function:

Green wires are used for the Horn, Turn signals, Park lights, Brake lights, Transfer case indicator switch, Inspection light.

Blue wires are used for the Wipers, and heater circuits.

Red wires are used for the Head lights, Gauge Cluster lights, Back up light and switch, brake light switch.

Yellow wires are used for the transfer case indicator light, Oil, Temp, Fuel Gauges.

White wires are used for power and ground circuits.

Black wires are used for the Starter, Ignition, and Ground circuits.

I'm sure I missed a few applications but this will give you a rough guide when you see a wire.

To Order

1. Figure out the wire color you want, the size (gauge) and the # of feet needed. If you do not know the gauge, or length needed, let me know. I know the sizes and lengths of all circuits in the early harnesses (up to 9/83). If your harness has been 'customized' by a previous owner, all I can do is offer advice. :-)
2. Minimum purchase of EACH color/size is 2'.
3. Send me an email to fj40coolerman@gmail.com with the part # and # of feet of each color you need. Example: Wire #BW14 I need 5 feet
4. Shipping by USPS. If your order is a really small, it will ship via USPS envelope. Larger ones will come in a USPS Priority Mail envelope or medium rate box.

Second letter = stripe color

Base/Stripe Colors Toyota uses

B = Black, G = Green, L = Blue, O = Orange, R = Red, W = White, Y = Yellow
