There are six primary colors used: Black,Green,Blue,Red,Yellow
and White and seven stripe colors Black, Green, Blue, Red, Yellow, White,
and Orange. This gives a total of 31 combinations!
As a general guide Toyota colors are grouped according to function:
Green wires are used for the Horn, Turn signals, Park lights, Brake lights, Transfer case indicator switch, Inspection light.
Blue wires are used for the Wipers, and heater circuits.
Red wires are used for the Head lights, Gauge Cluster lights, Back up light and switch, brake light switch.
Yellow wires are used for the transfer case indicator light, Oil, Temp, Fuel Gauges.
White wires are used for power and ground circuits.
Black wires are used for the Starter, Ignition, and Ground circuits.
I'm sure I missed a few applications but this will give you a rough guide when you see a wire.
