CCOT Wheel Well Supports
I had heard that if you add a roll bar to the early FJ40's that
did not have then you should add some type of roll bar support under the wheel
wells or tie the cage straight to the frame. I decided that I would add the
supports. CCOT carries them as do Real Steel. At the time the Real Steel ones
were not available and after my experience with their wheel well tops I ordered
the ones from CCOT. They are designed to mount underneath the wheel well and
greatly strengthen the wheel well in case of a roll over by tying the top and
side panel together.
I posted some questiond on IH8Mud and one excellent piece of
advice was to wait until the wheel wells were welded into the truck BEFORE attaching
the supports. This allows you to use the play in the truck panels to line things
up before you stiffen it with the supports.
